I’ve been getting in to golf lately. Before this year, I’d probably played a half-dozen times in my life. But I finally bit the bullet and got myself a set of clubs. Though it’s a fairly expensive outlay (over $350 with everything including bag & glove) I’d been paying about $20 each time I played just to rent POS(Piece of Shit) clubs at the course. My clubs are “Wilson Ultra” if anyone knows anything.
Dave Schneider went to the Cheam Golf driving range today and I hit three buckets of balls. Because I know I’ve got the strength to longball it, I often end up trying to crush it without getting the proper swing down first. So I’m concentrating on holding off and getting my technique better, and once I’ve got that I can increase my club speed and use this big upper body I’ve got.
The main drawback of golf is that because of the heat we have to play either earlier in the day (tomorrow at Kinkora at 8:06AM! Gah!) or later when all the mosquitos are out. Those of you who know me know that I’m not a morning person. About the only time I’m up around 8AM is when I haven’t gone to sleep yet. And also, mosquitos love me.
But I’m enjoying it, and shall troop on.
