My name is Joe Fulgham. I’m a self-employed web designer/online marketing consultant. I live in Burnaby, BC, Canada with my Boston Terrier Loki.
I’m the co-host of the Caustic Soda Podcast. We release one show a week on a variety of topics, usually the gross, weird, and disturbing. Reviews have been embarrassingly positive and I love doing it.
A lot of people, especially those who met me first online, call me by my nickname “Puck”. This includes many of my clients, and I’m fine with it.
Yes, I created this icon:

which I call “Hobbes Club”. I use it as my SomethingAwful avatar, and pretty much everywhere else that uses one. People ask permission to “steal” it, and there’s not much I can do to stop them, so they might as well.
I’m a fan of good sci-fi and fantasy though more the former than the latter these days. I mourn Firefly’s cancellation on almost a weekly basis, but thankfully many other great shows have appeared to soothe the loss, though not replace it.
I’m an atheist, in the Dawkins/Sagan sense — while you can’t absolutely disprove the existence of God, it’s so almost ufathomably improbable as to be on par with faeries in the garden and the Flying Spaghetti Monster.
I’m very involved in the Vancouver skeptic community. I’m a regular attendee of the Vancouver Skeptics in the Pub, and I’m the MC for Vancouver’s SkeptiCamp.
I’ve lost about 80 lbs in the past few years. It was a combination of finally realizing how huge I was getting (nearly 260lbs at my heaviest) and changing my (terrible) eating habits and getting more exercise, as well as Medifast for the big “crash diet” to get me down quickly. I gained a bit of that back due to the bad habits returning but through simple calorie-counting (and exercise counting as “negative calories”, which encourages me to exercise so I can eat more) I’m nearly back down to my ideal weight.
I think Medifast is great for losing big weight but you need a long-term plan to keep that weight off, and Medifast doesn’t help with that.
I play games, both video and “traditional” games like board games (Settlers of Cataan, Carcassone) and RPGs (Mutants and Masterminds, Gamma World). My current video game of choice is Team Fortress 2.
